‘Day of Community Service’:
Sunday, September 28, 2025

We need 200 volunteers for indoor and outdoor projects at our partner schools and local organizations in Maryland.

Purpose and Impact.

Missions Blitz is “Service to the Community” by promoting healthy life styles. This event allows for servants of our congregation to engage in a day of community service to the residents of Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County Maryland, as well as the District of Columbia. This has been woven into our 119th year old tapestry of traditions at the First Baptist Church, Inc., North Brentwood. Under the leadership of our Senior Pastor, Reverend Dr. Duane T. Kay, we are moving forward in faith to build upon our rich heritage.

Mission Blitz servants assist and serve multiple sites to help create a better environment for others, create healthier communities, spread love and show Christ through service. Over the past ten years of Missions Blitz we have impacted more than 10,000 lives in the Metropolitan area through food donations, providing meals, clothing donations, and beautification projects.

~ Darcy Levit, Director of Major Gifts—Washington Humane Society

“Thank you for your organization of First Baptist Church of North Brentwood’s project to improve the Washington Humane Society’s (WHS) New York Avenue adoption Center. The Volunteers who came out made a tremendous difference at our facility.”

Your volunteers were excellent. They completed yard work at one of our locations, and it looked wonderful after the work was complete. We would love to participate in your next work day. Thanks so much for supporting Habitat.
— Charlene McCall, Prince George’s County Habitat for Humanity

~Valarie J.V. Webb, Bladensburg Elementary School

“Oh MY GOD! The First Baptist Church volunteers were EXCELLENT! They were very professional, kind and considerate, patient and served as followers of Christ. They worked as a team exhibiting true servant hood, following the directive of Ecclesiastes: ‘Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might’ (9:10).”
