Daniel Curtis
Minister of Music of First Baptist Church, Inc. of North Brentwood, Maryland
Daniel Curtis, a native of Baltimore, Maryland is an accomplished musician, singer, and songwriter who has proudly served the Baltimore-Washington area as a Ministry Consultant and Coordinator since 2017.
His musical and ministry roots were established at the Ark Church of Baltimore (formerly The Little Ark Missionary Baptist Church), which his great-grandfather, Dr. Matthew Marcus Sr. founded and pastored for 52 years. At the age of 11, he was introduced to church musicianship; and, at the age of 19, started leading various music departments, churches and other musical aggregations throughout the Baltimore-Metropolitan area.
Daniel is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in History and [also] led the UMBC Gospel Choir, which grew exponentially under his leadership.
Mr. Curtis is a firm believer in creating safe, efficient, inclusive, growth-filled and God-centered worship cultures where God lives and God’s people thrive as God’s glory is revealed.
As it relates to gifts, calling, stewardship, worship and service, his favorite scripture to admonish is Colossians 3:23-24:
- “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the Soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One whom] You are serving [is] the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24 AMP)
